No. 10 Texas Tech enters final round ninth in California

PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. — No. 10 Texas Tech continued play at the Pauma Valley Invitational on Tuesday with the second round at Pauma Valley Country Club and sits even-par through 36 holes in ninth place in the 16-team field.
The Red Raiders shot a 1-over-par 285 in the second round and enter Wednesday's final round at 568 (E), 11 shots behind 36-hole leader No. 15 Tennessee.
Three Red Raiders — Adam Bresnu, Brady McHenry, and Tim Wiedemeyer — are tied for 20th at 1-under heading into the final round.
Wiedemeyer posted Tech's only under-par round Tuesday with a 1-under 70. The junior finished under par despite recording a 7 on the 561-yard, par-5 eighth hole. Wiedemeyer excelled throughout the rest of the round, posting a team-high six birdies on his card.
McHenry remained under par for the tournament after posting the Red Raiders' second-lowest round of the day with an even-par 71, while Bresnu, the team's day-one leader, slipped back to 1-under after a 1-over 72 in the second round. Bresnu was 2-over through his first eight holes before rebounding with a bogey-free stretch over his final 10 holes that included one birdie to close his round.
Connor Graham is tied for 56th at 4-over 146 after rounds of 73-73, while Simon Hovdal shot a 1-over 72 in the second round and is tied for 68th at 6 over.
The final round gets underway on Wednesday morning, with the first of five Red Raiders teeing off from No. 10 beginning at 8:23 a.m. PDT.
