Zaretsky holds Top 10 position at Paradise Invitational

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Senior Lauren Zaretsky shot under par for the second straight day Tuesday at the Paradise Invitational, continuing to lead Texas Tech at Osprey Point Golf Course. Zaretsky fired a 2-under 70 in the second round, following Monday's 1-under 71, and sits in fifth place, four shots off the lead heading into the final round.
Zaretsky posted one of two rounds of par or better for the Red Raiders as Maja Ambroziak climbed 12 spots on the leaderboard with an even-par 72. Zaretsky remained in fifth after Tuesday's round, while Ambroziak improved to tied for 45th following an opening-round 78.
As a team, Texas Tech slipped one spot to seventh despite shooting a 2-over 290 — 10 shots better than Monday's 12-over 300. The course average also dropped from 76.60 in the first round to 73.37 in the second.
Along with Zaretsky and Ambroziak, the Red Raiders counted a pair of 2-over 74s from Amy Squires and Cameron Freund toward their team round.
The final round of the Paradise Invitational begins at 9 a.m. CT on Wednesday.
