Hill shoots 65 to lead three under-par rounds at The Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. — The No. 15 Texas Tech men's golf team used a trio of under-par rounds Tuesday morning to climb the leaderboard at The Prestige, posting a 9-under 275 in the second round at PGA WEST's Greg Norman Course.
With one wave still on the course Tuesday afternoon, Texas Tech sat sixth in the 24-team field. Twelve teams opened play in the morning, with the second set of teams to follow in the afternoon. Final standings will be determined following the completion of the afternoon round — to keep current, visit the Live Leaderboard.Â
Price Hill matched his career low with a 6-under 65 to lead the Red Raiders' surge. He recorded five birdies and two bogeys on the front nine before carding three birdies on a bogey-free back nine.
After 36 holes, Hill and teammate Adam Bresnu were tied for fifth at 3-under 139 at midday. Bresnu shot a 3-under 68 in the second round after opening with an even-par 71.
Ben Gregg completed the trio of under-par rounds with a 2-under 69. He was tied for 41st at 2-over, alongside teammate Connor Graham, who shot a 2-over 73 on Tuesday. Brady McHenry also carded a 2-over 73 and will sit outside the top 75 entering the final round.
Less than 10 miles from the five Red Raiders at The Prestige, Simon Hovdal continued play in The Prestige Individual at the Golf Club at Terra Lago in Indio, California. Hovdal shot a 6-over 78 after opening with a 3-over 75 on Monday and dropped outside the top 20 in the 51-player field.
The final round for both events is scheduled for Wednesday.
