Tech signs Kaili Teso

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech women's tennis team has signed Kaili Teso as announced by head coach Adam Herendeen on Friday afternoon.

"We have been recruiting Kaili for a long time and are impressed by her professional experience and physical game style," Herendeen said. "We are confident that she will come in and be a big contributor for our team right away."

Teso boasts a career-high WTA singles ranking of 1243 and an ITF women's ranking of 91. In juniors, Teso won two doubles titles, one at J30 Nonthaburi (2023) and one at J4 Estepona (2022). Teso has been playing on the women's circuit since June 2024, where she's earned 27 wins so far.

In her first women's tournament at the Monastir 15k, Teso won three matches to advance out of qualifying, including victories over Lina Soussi (ITF 442) and Dana Baidaulet (ITF 353). A month later at the same tournament, Teso had three wins in qualifying and another in the main draw, highlighted by victories against Sasha Chimedza (ITF 260) and Ustiniya Lekomtseva (ITF 26).

In August 2024, Teso earned a win over Dominika Podhajecka (ITF 58) in the main draw of the Monastir 15k. She then picked up three wins at the Mysuru 15k, including one against Saumya Vig (ITF 80) two months later.

In March 2025, the Japan native advanced out of qualifying at the Sharm ElSheikh 15k after defeating Eleni Karantali (ITF 503) and Martina Augello. She also added a win in the main draw over Madelief Hageman (ITF 7). Most recently, she defeated Melissa Boyden (ITF 323) and Daria Belyaeva (ITF 233) at the Tsaghkadzor 15k.

Teso is set to join the Lady Raiders next fall.
