LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Women's Tennis head coach Adam Herendeen announced the promotion of Patrick Fediuk to associate head coach on Tuesday morning after a successful first year as assistant coach of the Lady Raiders. In addition, Herendeen signed a contract extension through 2030.
"This year, Coach Pat established himself as one of the top assistants in all of college tennis," Herendeen said. "He had an immediate impact in all facets of our program, and I am thrilled to continue building Texas Tech Women's Tennis together! We are so fortunate to have the Fediuk family here in Lubbock and we are eager to get the new year started."
"This promotion is about all of the people at Texas Tech who have put me in a position to be successful," Fediuk said. "I want to specifically thank my wife Nicole, who has supported me unconditionally. I sincerely believe we have the best staff in country: Adam Herendeen, Kacey Hanslik, Brooklyn Dendle, Dylan Rowe, Casey Montalvo, Sarah Price, Kassidy Rekieta and Mike Ryan are the best in the business, and I can't wait to keep building what we have here in West Texas. Wreck Em!"
In just his first season as the assistant coach, Fediuk led the Lady Raiders to two Big 12 Championships after winning the regular season and Big 12 Tournament. Consistently ranked in the top 15 all season and finishing the year at No. 14 for their highest end-of-year ranking in seven years, the Lady Raiders would go on to earn their first top-10 win since 2018 after defeating No. 10-ranked NC State.
Picking up six top-25 wins on the year, Texas Tech put together a 23-3 overall record and a 12-1 record in conference play. The team's 23 wins marks the third-most all-time, its 12 conference wins is a program record, and its .885 winning percentage is the best in school history.
The Lady Raiders qualified for their 13th NCAA Tournament and hosted NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2018 and sixth total. Fediuk coached two doubles All-Americans in Avelina Sayfetdinova and Mariia Hlahola while also coaching four All-Big 12 selections (Yekaterina Dmitrichenko, Hailey Murphy, Hlahola and Sayfetdinova), the Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Performer (Dmitrichenko), the ITA Texas Regional Player to Watch (Dmitrichenko) and ITA Texas Regional Most Improved Player (Dmitrichenko).
