Red Raiders in the NFL | Regular Season Week 2, Sept. 11-15
LUBBOCK, Texas – After week one of the NFL season, Red Raiders in the NFL saw an addition to its lineup as the Cincinnati Bengals added defensive end Myles Cole to its practice squad to increase the number of Red Raiders in the NFL to 15 for week two. On the field, the second week was highlighted by Jordyn Brooks' eight tackles and a sack for the Dolphins, as well as Austin McNamara being called into duty for the Jets by providing seven punts for a net average of 42.6, his longest boot of the day being 55 yards.

ARIZONA CARDINALSÂ vs. Carolina Panthers (W, 27-22)
S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson (2019-23): Taylor-Demerson and the Arizona Cardinals moved to 2-0 in their home-opener with a 27-22 win over the Carolina Panthers. Taylor-Demerson recorded four tackles as he played 52 percent of his snaps at safety with an additional 14 snaps on special teams.
DL Broderick Washington Jr. (2016-19): Washington Jr. registered 35 snaps overall with 26 of them coming on the defensive line as the Baltimore Ravens moved to 1-1.Â
RB Tahj Brooks (2020-24):Â For a second-straight week, Brooks made his impact on special teams, recording one tackle on punt coverage. The Cincinnati Bengals are off to a 2-0 start, but will head into week three without starting quarterback Joe Burrow, who suffered an injury versus the Jaguars.
OL Terence Steele (2016-19):  Steele played each snap, helping the Cowboys rush for over 100 yards (135) for the second-straight week. The Dallas Cowboys needed a 64-yard field goal from Brandon Aubrey to send the game into overtime and stopped the New York Football Giants twice to set Aubrey up for a game-winning 46-yard chip shot in the extra period. Â
QB Patrick Mahomes II (2014-16): In last season's Super Bowl (LIX) rematch, Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in their home-opener. Just like last week, Mahomes led the team in rushing with 66 yards on seven carries, which included a 13-yard touchdown. He completed 16 of his passes on 22 attempts for 187 yards and one touchdown. The Chiefs are 0-2 for the first time in the Mahomes era. The franchise's last 0-2 start came back in 2014 – Andy Reid's second season as head coach.Â
DE Tyree Wilson (2020-22): Wilson finished the night with one pass breakup, seeing limited time on defense, mainly on third down packages.Â
LB Jordyn Brooks (2016-19):Â Brooks was second on the team in tackles, recording eight, including one sack for a loss of 11 yards, giving him 10.5 for his career. He currently sits tied for third in the NFL with 22 tackles, just four shy of the league leader through two games.Â
P Austin McNamara (2020-23):Â McNamara registered a season-high seven punts Sunday for a net average of 42.6, his longest boot of the day being 55 yards. He pinned three inside the 20 with one touchback.
DB Tyler Owens (2022-23): Owens saw playing time only on special teams as he downed one punt inside the 10-yard line (Green Bay 8). The Washington Commanders opened the week on Thursday night.
