PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — In his Red Raider debut, junior Adam Bresnu posted a fifth-place finish with the help of a final round 1-under-par 71 Sunday at the Carmel Cup at Spyglass Hill Golf Club. The team turned in a tournament-best 4-under-par final round to share a tie for fifth place with TCU at 7-over-par.
Â
The Odessa College transfer shot under par each of the three rounds over the 54-hole event, and carded four birdies in his final round. Three of the four birdies in Bresnu's final round came on the back nine to come home in 2-under-par 34 en route to a 71 (-1).
Â
Sophomore Connor Graham bounced back after a second round 75 with a final round 1-under-par 71. Graham went 2-under-par 34 on the front nine, playing his first seven holes with three birdies on the card. The 71 was enough to garner a tie for 13th, his seventh top-15 finish in the last year.
Â
Despite a 12-over-par first 36 holes, junior Price Hill fired a bogey-free 4-under-par round of 68 to jump up eight spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 37th.
Â
Although Oklahoma State made a final round push, shooting 7-under-par, Vanderbilt still won by three strokes over the Cowboys in a wire-to-wire win.
Â
Oklahoma's Jase Summy and Oklahoma State's Ethan Fang shared the individual title at 11-under-par.
