Morton named to watch list for 2025 Golden Arm Award
August 19, 2025 | Football
BALTIMORE – The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation, Inc. revealed on Tuesday that Texas Tech senior quarterback Behren Morton was named to the watch list for the 2025 Golden Arm Award. The award recognizes on-field talent, character, and leadership, and is presented annually to the top senior or upperclassman quarterback who is on track to graduate with their class.
Â
The watch list is the fifth for the senior quarterback this preseason as he nears the start of a highly anticipated fifth season with the Red Raiders. Morton was previously tabbed to the Maxwell, Wuerffel, Davey O'Brien, and Manning Award watch lists this month.Â
Â
This year's Golden Arm list showcases 58 of the nation's premier collegiate quarterbacks, including a mix of returning standouts and rising stars. Morton was one of 10 recognized from the Big 12.Â
Â
As the 2025 college football season unfolds, the watch list will be narrowed to semifinalists, finalists, and one standout quarterback will take home the Golden Arm Award in December. The winner will be celebrated at the annual Golden Arm Award ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Johnny Unitas' hometown of Baltimore—a night honoring leadership, legacy, and the best in college football.
