
Team USA defeats Chinese Taipei in group play

HAGEN, Germany – Jalynn Bristow recorded a double-double to lead Team USA over Chinese Taipei in group play, 79-68, on Saturday evening at Ischelandhalle Arena.
Bristow totaled 19 points and a team-high 10 rebounds in the win, while adding four assists and a steal. She would go 8-for-14 (.571) from the field and 2-for-3 from behind the arc. DeYona Gaston led the team in points for the second-straight game after putting up 20 on 7-for-9 shooting (.777) and tallying six boards with a steal.
Denae Fritz posted her second-consecutive game with double-figures as she scored 16 points while shooting 66.6 percent from three (4-for-6) to lead Team USA. She also led the team in steals with three and had five rebounds in the game. Team USA recorded 22 assists in the game, led by point guard Sidney Love with seven, her second game leading in that category.
The Americans shot 50 percent from the field (26-for-52) and 47.6 percent from behind the arc (10-for-21). Going 17-for-21 (.809) from the free throw line, Team USA outrebounded Chinese Taipei 43 to 31 and also forced 17 turnovers.
