
Tech signs Snudda Collins

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's basketball head coach Krista Gerlich has announced the signing of Snudda Collins to the 2025-26 roster.

Collins is coming to Texas Tech after playing four seasons at Ole Miss. An incoming graduate student from Brookhaven, Miss., the 6-1 guard will play her final season with the Lady Raiders. Collins finished her tenure with the Rebels as a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member, a two-time SEC Freshman of the Week and a SEC All-Freshman Team selection.

Scoring the most points ever recorded in an Ole Miss players' debut, Collins totaled 23 points in her first game as a freshman against McNeese State on November, 30, 2020 to break the record. Collins now checks in at fifth in Ole Miss history with 175 career 3-pointers made and is fourth all-time with 574 3-pointer attempts. She led the team in 3-pointers every year she played at Ole Miss, while leading the team in 3-point percentage in the 2020-21 and 2023-24 as well as leading the team in free throw percentage in 2023-24 with 82.1 percent (55-for-67).

In 2023-24, Collins ranked fourth on the team with 9.6 points per game and added 26 assists, 50 rebounds, 17 steals and 16 blocks. Averaging 25.8 minutes per game, Collins would help the team to a 24-9 overall record and a third-place finish in SEC play after going 12-4 in conference. The Rebels would advance to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament and to the NCAA Tournament Second Round. Collins appeared in 28 games, making 20 starts, and totaled 14 double-digit scoring games and a season-high of 22 points against Louisville.

The previous season in 2022-23, Ole Miss put together a 25-9 record and an 11-5 SEC record to finish fourth in conference. The Rebels would make the Sweet 16 after beating 1-seeded Stanford and 9-seeded Gonzaga, while advancing to the SEC Tournament semifinals. Collins averaged 27.5 minutes per game and ranked fourth on the team with 8.9 points per game. She recorded 75 rebounds, 27 assists, 19 blocks and 17 steals, and appeared in all 34 games as she totaled a team-best 55 3-pointers made, while tallying 14 double-figure games.

Collins aided the team to another NCAA Tournament and SEC Tournament semifinal appearance in the 2021-22 season after the Rebels went 23-9 on the year and 10-6 in league play, finishing tied for fourth in the SEC. Collins played in 32 games with 18 starts, averaging 22.4 minutes per game. She went 44-for-145 from behind the arc (.303) to lead the team and added 5.9 points per game to rank fourth. Playing in all 32 games and starting in 18 on the season, Collins led the way with 44 three-pointers made and scored a season-high of 20 points.

As a freshman in 2020-21, Collins earned SEC All-Freshman honors when she totaled 6.6 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game. She recorded 19 steals, 12 assists and 10 blocks and shot 37.7 percent from the three (43-for-114). Ole Miss qualified for the WNIT and made it to the finals with wins over UNI (60-50), Colorado (65-56), Tulane (72-61) and Samford (64-45). The Rebels also advanced to the SEC Tournament quarterfinals. She appeared in 27 games and made 15 starts, scoring a career-high of 23 in her debut. She also led all SEC freshman in regular-season shooting after going 42.5 percent from behind the arc and ranked fifth nationally in that category.

Collins was rated a three-star recruit nationally, the No. 4 ranked recruit in Mississippi and the No. 29 ranked forward nationally by ESPN out of high school. During her career at Brookhaven High School, she averaged 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. During her senior season, she totaled 18.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.7 steals in 2019-20. She led Brookhaven to a 5A state runner-up finish in 2020 and was part of three-straight 5A district championship teams.
