LUBBOCK, Texas – Fresh off a career season that saw him hit .327 with 19 home runs and 58 RBIs, outfielder Logan Hughes has been named a Second Team ABCA All-Central Region selection, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Big 12 leader in regular season home runs (19) and Big 12 Only home runs (11), Hughes also added 13 doubles, a team-best four triples and struck out just 24 times in 211 official at-bats.
His 19 total home runs were the seventh-most in a single season in program history.
Saving some of his best work for later in the season, Hughes hit .376 in Big 12 play with the 11 home runs, nine doubles and three triples. His OPS in conference contests was a staggering 1.196.
The outfielder also hit .370 in May homering five times in 12 games and ended the season with an impressive 39-game on-base streak as the Florida native reached base in 51 of 53 games played this season.
The accolade Tuesday comes on the backs of the outfielder being named a First Team All-Big 12 selection as Hughes became the 83rd all-time All-Region selection in program history.
