Red Raiders earn No. 9 seed in Big 12 Championship

The Red Raiders will face eighth-seeded Cincinnati Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 p.m.
ARLINGTON, Texas – Fresh off a Saturday win over BYU, Texas Tech Baseball has earned the No. 9 seed in next week's 2025 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship hosted by the Big 12 Conference, REV Entertainment and Globe Life Field.
The Red Raiders closed the regular season at 13-17 overall, tied for ninth-place with Baylor. Tech won the tiebreaker with the Bears by virtue of the regular season series victory over BU last month.
Expanding to a field of 12 teams for the first time in 2025, the single-elimination tournament will begin with four games on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 9 a.m. when No. 12 BYU faces-off with No. 5 Arizona State.
The Red Raiders will take the field following the conclusion of BYU and Arizona State at approximately 12:30 p.m. against No. 8 Cincinnati.
Day One of the event concludes with No. 7 Oklahoma State facing off with No. 10 Baylor at 4 p.m., before No. 6 Kansas State and No. 11 Houston close the night at 8 p.m.
Wednesday's four winners will advance to Thursday where the top-four seeds await. The winner of BYU and ASU will face No. 4 Arizona at 9 a.m. Thursday, followed by the Tech/UC winner facing No. 1 seed WVU at 12:30 p.m.
The winner between OSU/BU will face No. 2 seed Kansas at 4 p.m., while the KST/UH winner will get No. 3 TCU at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday's winners of the first two quarterfinal matchups will play Friday at 4 p.m. with the bottom two winners meeting at 7 p.m. for a spot in the Big 12 Championship.
Saturday's Big 12 Championship is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch and will be televised live on ESPNU.
