
Tech signs Jada Malone

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's basketball head coach Krista Gerlich has announced the signing of Jada Malone to the 2025-26 roster.
"Jada is a dominant force in the paint," Gerlich said. "She has tremendous footwork and knows how to demand the ball. Her presence in the paint is something we have needed for a long time. To top it off, she is a phenomenal human being! I can't wait for our fans to get to know Jada Malone!"Â
Malone is a 6-3 forward transfer from Texas A&M after spending the past three seasons there. Over her career, Malone put together a 55.9 field goal percentage (202-for-361), making a season-high of 107 field goals as well as shooting a team-best 62.6 percent from the field this past season.
Posting back-to-back seasons with over 100 rebounds, Malone recorded a season-high of 143 boards as a redshirt junior. In 2024-25, Malone appeared in all 29 games with five starts and finished third on the team with 8.7 points per game and in rebounds over 18.8 minutes of game play.
Malone has led the Aggies in field goal percentage in 2024-25 and in 2022-23, shooting 51.8 percent from the field her sophomore season. This year, she recorded 10 double-figure scoring games and two 20+ point games with a career best of 26 points and 11 field goals against Southern Miss. She put together two double-doubles and two games with double-digit rebounds, while also adding 5+ rebounds in 14 games.
Prior to her career at Texas A&M, Malone was a four-star recruit, the No. 9-ranked player in the state of Texas and the No. 91-ranked recruit in the nation. She helped her high school to the 2020 Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) State Championship and was named the VYPE and Houston Chronicle Private School Player of the Year in 2019 and 2020. The Spring, Texas native is set to join the Lady Raiders as a redshirt senior.
