April 14, 2025 | Men's Golf
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Texas Tech men's golf team, slated for 36 holes Monday at the Mountaineer Invitational, will resume its second round at 8:45 a.m. EDT after play was suspended due to a significant thunderstorm. Players had between six and nine holes remaining in their respective rounds when officials halted action.
Texas Tech sat in third place out of 18 teams when play was suspended. The Red Raiders combined for a 6-over 294 in the first round and stood at even-par collectively in the incomplete second round.
Connor Graham and Calum Scott led the way for the Red Raiders on Monday. Graham was the only Tech golfer to post an under-par round to open the tournament, carding a 1-under 71 at the par-72 Pete Dye Golf Club. The freshman was 1-over through his second round when play was paused. Scott, a senior, fired an even-par 72 in the opening round and was also even-par in round two before the suspension. Both are currently tied for eighth in a field of 100 golfers.
Freshman Sean Keeling, competing as an individual, was inside the top 20 when play stopped. Keeling shot a 1-over 73 in the opening round and stood at 2-over in his second round when the delay hit. He'll look to rebound when play resumes Tuesday.
Charlie DeLong, currently inside the top 25, bounced back strong in the second round after a 7-over 79 in round one. The junior was leading the Red Raiders in round two at 2-under when play was halted.
Teams will resume second-round play Tuesday morning with a rolling start to follow for the third and final round of the Mountaineer Invitational.
