Snow is the first Red Raider to go below the 7.50 time
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech track and field team wrapped up day one of home competition in the fourth-annual Jarvis Scott Invite, while the men's distance team completed their day in Boston at the David Hemery Valentine Invite.

Jarvis Scott Invite
Malachi Snow won the men's Olympic development 60m sprint heat clocking for a new PB time of 6.53, putting him top-5 in the NCAA this season. Later on that night in the 60m hurdles, Snow took second (7.46) only behind adidas pro Trey Cunningham (7.45). The time gives Snow the top time in the NCAA.
Shelby Frank and Konner Wood starred in the weight throw for Tech. Frank won the competition with a throw of 23.45m (76-11 ¼), putting her No. 2 in the NCAA as she now owns the 1-8 marks in Tech history. Wood threw a PB 22.24m (72-11 ¾), joining the 22-meter club for the first time in his career – he finished in second place.
David Hemery Valentine Invite
Ernest Cheruiyot ran a 5000m time of 13:28.58, putting him No. 3 all-time in the Tech record book. He finished fifth in his heat and the third-best collegiate runner. Meanwhile, Zouhair Redouane opened his 3000m season with a time of 8:00.99, making his time the ninth fastest in Red Raider history.

·     Former Red Raider and NCAA outdoor 800m champion Moad Zahafi won the men's 800m with an indoor PB time of 1:45.76
·     Alyssa Colbert won the women's 60m sprint with a time of 7.32
·     Zaid Latif won the men's long jump with a PB mark of 7.82m (25-8).
·     Samuel Bennett took second in the 60m hurdles with a PB time of 7.66
