Volleyball drops match to No. 23 Baylor
WACO, Texas – Texas Tech volleyball (10-17, 2-13) fell to No. 23 Baylor (16-9, 11-6) 3-1 on Thursday night. The Bears celebrated senior night after a shaky first set, they settled in and were able to take the next three sets to secure the win.
Kalli Jioshvili Ravva recorded her seventh double-double of the season, going for a team-high 15 kills and 16 digs while also being in on two blocks. Waco-native Kenna McKenzie had a double-digit kill performance as well going for 11.
Sierra Grizzle led the team with 30 digs to hold down the backline. Peyton Dunn finished with 32 assists and three kills. Reagan Engler finished with nine kills and hit an efficient .471 while also being in on three blocks.

Baylor's Harley Kreck was all over the place out of the setter position as she went for 40 assists, seven kills, nine digs and five blocks.
How it Happened:
Tech jumped out to an early 4-1 lead in the Ferrell Center and kept that lead into the media timeout, going up 15-10 at the break behind three Engler kills but were also helped by five service errors from the Bears. Baylor responded with a 4-1 run out of the break before a kill by Kanouff broke that up to spark a 4-1 run in favor of the Red Raiders to force a timeout. The Bears made it close, but Tech was able to close out thanks to Jioshvili Ravva and McKenzie's late kills to win 25-22 and snap Baylor's 11-match streak of winning the first set at home.
After trading blows early in the set, the Bears opened up a 12-6 lead to force a Red Raider timeout as they had nine kills and no errors up to that point in the set. Tech got a pair of big blocks as they looked to get back into the set, but Baylor pushed its lead to 18-11, forcing Tech's final timeout of the set. The Bears were able to close out the set with a 25-18 win.
Tech took an early lead in set three, but a 9-1 run by the Bears put them up 18-12. Baylor went on to win 25-16 to take the 2-1 lead.
Baylor and Tech traded points as it was 15-13 going into the media timeout. Baylor then took its largest lead of the set at 21-16 and rode that to a 25-22 win to clinch the match.
