Kickoff between the Red Raiders and Cougars has been set for 11 a.m. on Nov. 8 inside Jones AT&T Stadium
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced Monday that Texas Tech's next home game against BYU on Nov. 8 will kick off at 11 a.m. inside Jones AT&T Stadium with television coverage provided either on ABC or ESPN. An exact television designation will be determined after this weekend's slate of games.
Â
This will only be the third all-time meeting between Texas Tech and BYU and the second since the Cougars joined the Big 12 prior to the 2023 season. The two schools have split the previous two meetings with the Red Raiders edging BYU, 21-20, all the way back in 1940 with the Cougars winning the lone Big 12 matchup with a 27-14 victory in Provo in 2023.
Â
The matchup puts potentially two of the top teams in the Big 12 standings against each other for a key November clash. BYU enters an open date this weekend at 8-0 overall and 5-0 in Big 12 play as the Cougars are ranked as high as No. 10 this week in the polls. Texas Tech, meanwhile, is 7-1 on the season and 4-1 in conference play heading into a road trip Saturday at Kansas State.
Â
Texas Tech will continue its longstanding tradition of honoring the brave heroes who have fought for our country with its Celebrate America Game. Texas Tech will recognize each branch of the military and its campus military and veterans' programs throughout the game. This will also be Texas Tech's Hall of Fame weekend where the 2025 class will be honored at halftime.
Â
Texas Tech has already announced an advanced sellout for the BYU game, one of six already on the docket for the Red Raiders this season. Fans still looking to purchase tickets are encouraged to do so via SeatGeek, the official secondary ticket provider of Texas Tech Athletics.
