Cole Omlin was the lone Red Raider to open the week competing in the heptathlon
LUBBOCK, Texas – Junior multi-athlete Cole Omlin wrapped up day one of the Stan Scott Invite and Multis Thursday afternoon at the Sports Performance Center.
Omlin scored 3,017 points sitting in third place overall after day one of the heptathlon. Tomorrow he will finish with the 60m hurdles, pole vault and 1000m.
Omlin started the morning in the 60m sprint clocking in at 7.30 – just 0.08 shy of his PB (7.22). He then moved onto the long jump where he took third overall with a mark of 6.83m (22-5). In the shot put, Omlin secured a PB of 13.20m (43-3 ¾) as he took second overall.
In the high jump, the final event of day one, Omlin finished second as he cleared 1.98m (6-6). He collected 785 points for a day one total of 3,017 points.

Omlin picks back up tomorrow morning at 11:30 a.m. with the 60m hurdles, while the rest of teams in the field this weekend start competition.
