In the first set, junior Marguerite Grubb assisted on 15 of Tech's 16 kills, spreading the wealth to six different Red Raiders. Junior Lauren Douglass notched six kills in the first frame. The Red Raiders added 19 digs, with senior Carlie Foust putting up nine, who would finish with 21.
Tech added 18 kills in the second set, with Stacy tallying five. Grubb dished out 14 assists as well as six digs, she would finish with 41 assists and eight digs. Redding and senior Brianna Grant posted two blocks each to contribute to the Red Raider defense.
Set three was similar to the first, as the Jackrabbits put up negative attack percentages in both, -.061 and -.062, respectively, to finish at .000. It was the fifth time this season that the Red Raiders have held their opponents to an attack percentage below .100. Tech connected on 11 of 12 sideout attempts in the third set, ending with 32-40 (80 percent) for the match.
Douglass and Keenan earned All-Tournament Team honors for their performances over the weekend.
"It is important for this team to grow every day and each match," Flora said. "It was nice to see so much support for each teammate."
Next weekend, the Red Raiders will travel north to Annapolis, Maryland, to play in the Kristen Dickmann Invitational against Maryland, Navy and George Washington, from Sept. 11-12.
