No. 16 Texas Tech Enters Final Round in Third Place

Greg Sands and Clement Sordet have helped lead the Red Raiders into third place entering Saturday's third and final round of the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in Albuquerque, N.M.

The Red Raiders currently sit at 5-under par and will have some work ahead if they hope to catch tournament host New Mexico. The Lobos have stormed out to a 15-stroke lead on their home course as they stand at 22-under, 554. San Diego State is just two strokes ahead of Texas Tech at 7-under, 569.
Texas Tech has a comfortable 23-stroke lead over No. 15 TCU. The Horned Frogs are currently in ninth place at 18-over, 594.
Leading the way for Texas Tech is senior Clement Sordet and freshmen Pereira Guillermo, who are currently tied for third overall at 6-under, 138. Sordet fired a 67 in the first round followed by a 71 in round two to put himself into contention for medalist honors on Saturday. Guillermo, one of the most heralded freshmen in Tech history, shot a 68 in round one and a 70 in round two.
Senior Esteban Restrepo is tied for 24th overall at 3-over, 147.
The final round of the tournament will get underway on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. (CT). Live scoring can be followed at www.golfstat.com.

? Sordet birdied the 4th hole both the first and second round.
? Pereira birded the 1st and 2nd holes both the first and second round.
? Four Red Raiders birdied the 2nd hole Round 1 of the tournament.
