Texas Tech Falls to Baylor to End Road Trip

WACO, Texas -- Texas Tech came out firing each half on Tuesday night but could not keep any long runs going as four players scored in double digits to lead No. 1 Baylor to a 89-47 win at the Ferrell Center.
Tech (18-7, 8-5 Big 12) shot just 28.8 percent from the field and fell for only the third time on the road in Big 12 Conference play.
Senior guard Chynna Brown led the Lady Raiders with 15 points, scoring in double digits for the 13th time in the last 14 games. That brings her career total to 986 points, putting her just 14 points away from being the second Texas Tech player this season to score 1,000 points in her career.
Senior Casey Morris, who had 10 on Tuesday, reached her 1,000th career point earlier this season.
Morris and Brown hit Tech's only four 3-pointers of the game and were a combined 9 of 21 from the field as the rest of the squad struggled offensively. Most of that came from Baylor's constant full-court press and ball pressure on point guard Monique Smalls and others as Tech turned the ball over 20 times - six more than their average heading into Tuesday's contest.
Tech ended a two-game road trip, and will come back to the friendly confines of United Spirit Arena to face Texas (9-13, 2-9) at 2:30 p.m. CT Sunday. The game will be broadcast nationally on FOX Sports Southwest and will also commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 1993 National Championship team as former players and coaches will be on hand for the celebration.
