TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES Texas Tech and Nevada were meeting for the third time in school history and only the first time since 1996.
The loss was the first-ever to Nevada as Texas Tech entered the match 2-0 all-time against the Wolf Pack, with both victories being 3-0 sweeps.
The loss was Texas Tech's first in a five-set match this season as the Red Raiders had previously defeated Boston College, Furman, and Houston Baptist.
The Red Raiders were previously 8-0 on the year and 22-3 under head coach Don Flora when winning the opening set. Texas Tech was also 6-0 this year when tied after two sets as well.
The loss was only Texas Tech's second this year when hitting over .200 as a team as the Red Raiders came into the match 10-1 overall when doing so.
Head Coach Don Flora
The loss dropped Don Flora to 295-80 as a collegiate head coach and a 26-21 record while at Texas Tech.
The Red Raiders dropped to 25-6 against non-conference foes under Flora, including a 5-4 mark in true road contests.
Texas Tech is in the midst of its longest non-conference losing streak under Flora as the Red Raiders had not previously loss multiple matches in a row since his arrival in 2011.
The loss dropped Texas Tech to 5-4 in five-set matches all-time under Flora.
Miara Cave
Cave finished with a season-high 16 kills as the senior also matched her career high that was set Oct. 19 last year against Texas A&M.
Cave also recorded a .367 hitting percentage in the match, marking the fifth time she has eclipsed the .300 mark this season.
Emily Ehrle
Ehrle connected on 15 kills in the match while adding a .265 hitting percentage. It marked the third time this year where Ehrle has recorded 15 or more kills.
Rachel Brummitt
Brummitt reached the 20-dig mark for the sixth time this year and the third time in Texas Tech's last six matches. The sophomore finished with 26 digs in the match, including 11 in the first set alone.
Lydia McKay
McKay reached double digits for the fourth-straight match as the freshman recorded 10 in the middle to go along with a .320 hitting percentage. She was one kill shy of matching her season high that was set twice last weekend at the Rice Invitational.
