Despite the win, Texas Tech still trails UT-Arlington, 18-16, in the series. The Red Raiders have now won 11 of the last 13 meetings between the two schools.
Tech pushed its winning streak to 12-straight, the school's longest run since opening the 1996 season with a 15-0 record.
The Red Raiders ended its seventh-straight match via a 3-0 score, a feat that had not been previously accomplished since Tech opened the 1998 season with eight-straight sweeps.
Tech's sweep was its 11th of the year which is the school's most in a single-season since it totaled 14 during the 2000 season.
The Red Raiders have now won nine-straight road or neutral-site contests, the school's longest streak since winning 10-straight during the 1997 season.
Tech has now held its opponent to a hitting percentage below .100 in six of its last seven matches. It marked the eighth time the Red Raiders held the opposing team below the .100 mark this season as well.
The Red Raiders hit over .300 for the fourth time this season. Tech had been under the .300 mark in its last three matches dating back to the Grambling State match on Sept. 9.
Tech trailed UT-Arlington, 8-7, in blocks, marking the first time the Red Raiders have done so this season.
Amanda Dowdy's double-double was the 23rd of her career and 10th of the season. Dowdy has now posted a double-double in each of Tech's last five matches.
Dowdy's .444 hitting percentage marked her highest average since she hit .462 with 14 kills against Nebraska on Oct. 28, 2009.
Miara Cave returned to double-digits in kills after a two-match break. Cave had 11 kills in last weekend's tournament finale against Louisiana Tech.
