Texas Tech volleyball continues its tough road through the Big 12 conference this week when it travels to Manhattan, Kan. for a Wednesday night clash with No. 14 Kansas State at 7 p.m. Saturday, in-state foe Texas A&M comes calling to the United Spirit Arena for a 7 p.m. showdown.

Despite having one its best defensive efforts of the season, Texas Tech volleyball could not withstand No. 25 Oklahoma last Wednesday night in a 3-0 (28-30, 26-30 and 18-30) setback in the United Spirit Arena.
The Red Raiders held the Sooners to just .169 hitting and put away 25 blocks, their second-best output of the season.
Amy Gandy led the Red Raider defense with 11 digs and a season-best six blocks to go along with five kills. Alicia Ostmeyer added five blocks of her own in addition to her eight kills. Caroline Courtney, Hood and Flores were also contributed four blocks apiece, a career high for Courtney. Flores led Tech with a team-best nine kills, while sophomore transfer Kourtney Dunnam chipped in 31 assists and five digs in her first career start.
Tech vs. Kansas State
The Red Raiders will meet Kansas State for the 17th time Wednesday. The Wildcats lead the series 18-8 and have taken the last four contests.
Scouting the `Cats
Suzie Fritz is in her seventh season at the reigns of KSU. She has compiled a career record of 138-67 coming into this week.
The Wildcats are currently ranked No. 14 nationally and boast a 14-5, 6-3 record on the season. Four of their losses have come to teams ranked in the top 20.
KSU ranks fourth in the Big 12 in hitting at .259, third in assists at 14.84 and first in service aces with 2.25 per game. Opponents are hitting just .186 against the Wildcats this year.
Nataly Korobkova is one of the top players in the conference. She currently ranks fifth in the conference in kills with 4.35 kpg and third in points with an average of 5.39 per game. Stacey Spiegelberg is one of the top setters in the conference at 12.90 apg. Libero Angie Lastra is fourth in the Big 12 in digs at 4.14 dpg.
Tech vs. A&M
Saturday's showdown will mark the second time the two have met this season, and the 75th overall in the history of the two programs. TAMU squeaked out a close 3-2 (30-27, 30-21, 21-30, 27-30 and 15-10) win in the teams' first meeting this year on Sept. 19.
Scouting the Aggies
Laurie Corbelli is in her 15th year at the helm of Texas A&M. She has compiled a 320-140 record at the school coming into this week.
The Aggies are bringing a 14-6, 4-6 record into this week and have been ranked in the Top 25 this season.
A&M ranks in the top five in the conference in five major categories, including assists, kills, blocks and digs.
Sophomore outside hitter Sarah Ammerman leads the Aggies in kills with 3.92 kpg, good for seventh in the conference. Junior Jillian Phillips ranks fourth in the conference in hitting with a .389 clip and fifth in blocks with 1.33 bpg. Setter Kristen Schevikhoven leads A&M with 11.50 assists per game.
