
Red Raiders Finish Season in Missouri

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball squad will wrap up their 2006 season with a road trip to Columbia, Mo., to take on the Missouri Tigers. The match is scheduled for Friday, November 24th, with a 6:30 p.m. first serve.
The Red Raiders enter with a 12-16 overall record, and Tech is currently 5-14 through conference matches. Texas Tech is coming off of a loss on Senior Night Wednesday, as the Red and Black fell to the Kansas State Wildcats 3-1. The match marked the final home match for Tech's four seniors, Robyn Bucy, Kiley Lyons, Jamye Pauley and Philister Sang.
Tech lost by scores of 31-29, 24-30, 21-30, 18-30, as the Red Raiders hit .199 on the night. The team knocked down a total of 65 kills with 32 errors on 166 total attempts. They allowed Kansas State to hit .324 with 67 kills and 19 errors on 148 attempts.
Sang finished her home slate with a double-double as she tallied 18 kills and 13 digs on the night, marking her 12th double-double of the season. Holly Hicks led in assists with 27, her second most in a single match in her short career. Freshman Jenn Harrell again led the Red Raiders in digs with 15 as the second Tech member to record double-digit digs on the night.
Missouri will go into Friday's match with a 16-12 overall record and 10-9 in Big 12 matches. The Tigers are also coming off of a loss, as they fell at Texas A&M on Wednesday. The Aggies defeated Mizzou 3-0 by scores of 30-24, 30-20, 30-27.
The Tigers finished with .151 hitting with 41 total kills and 20 errors on 139 attempts. They allowed Texas A&M to accumulate .259 hitting with 54 kills and only 17 errors on 143 attempts. MU attempted to prevent the sweep as the third game featured 20 tie scores and five lead changes.
Standing out for the Tigers was Jessica Vander Kooi as she finished the night with a double-double, tallying 10 kills and 12 digs. Nicole Wilson led in kills with 13 on .444 hitting with one error on 27 attempts. Lei Wang recorded all of MU's 40 assists. Tatum Ailes led in digs with 18, while Na Yang added 13.
In the first match between the Red Raiders and Tigers, then-No. 19 Missouri defeated Tech in a sweep. The Tigers finished the match with scores of 30-26, 30-20, 30-24.
