The Game
Texas Tech will play in the Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu, Hawai'i, Nov. 24-26. The Lady Raiders play host Hawai'i on Fri., Nov. 24, at 9:30 p.m. CST and will play either Arkansas or Denver on Sat., Nov. 25, at 3:10 p.m. CST. The game on Sun., Nov. 26, will be determined by tournament play. The Lady Raiders will face Gonzaga, North Carolina, Sacramento State or UCLA on the final day of the tournament.
On the Air
There is no television coverage of the games. The games can be heard on the radio on the Texas Tech Sports Network as Ryan Hyatt calls the game. The game can also be heard on the internet at www.texastech.com through RaiderVision All-Access.
The Lady Raiders
Texas Tech is 3-0 on the year after beating Texas State, 82-63, last Sunday. On the year, all five starters are scoring in double figures led by senior Brooke Baughman at 15.0 and freshman Jordan Murphree and junior Erin Myrick at 12.0 points apiece. Seniors Alesha Robertson and Chesley Dabbs are averaging 10.7 and 10.3 points, respectively. Robertson and Myrick are the top rebounders, grabbing 10.0 boards per outing each. Myrick is shooting a team-high 56 percent from the field and Baughman is shooting 66.7 percent from the three-point line. Baughman is shooting 78.6 percent from the free throw line as well. Murphree has team highs of 16 assists and eight steals. Myrick is the top shot blocker with six blocks. Tech is shooting 42.5 percent from the field, 37 percent from the three-point arc and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe.
Scouting the Opponent
Hawai'i is 1-1 on the year after losing to No. 3/3 Oklahoma, 76-56, in the championship game of the Waikiki Beach Marriott Classic last Saturday. In that game, senior Janevia Taylor led the Rainbow Wahine with 12 points and two steals. Junior Tanya Smith had nine rebounds, while seniors Brittany Grice and Cassidy Chretien each finished with three assists. Junior Iwona Zagrobelna added two blocks.
On the year, Grice leads the team in scoring at 12.0 points per game followed by Taylor at 11.5. Smith is the top rebounds, averaging 9.0 boards per contest. Taylor has team highs of seven assists and five steals. Senior Pam Tambini also had five steals on the year. Zagrobelna is the top shot blocker with five blocks. Hawai'i is shooting 37.9 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from three-point range and 60 percent from the free throw line.
The Coaches
Texas Tech head coach Kristy Curry is in her first year at the helm of the Lady Raider basketball program and enters the game with a 3-0 record. Curry is in her eighth year as a head coach with a career record of 182-51.
In his third season at Hawai'i, Jim Bolla owns a 30-26 record. He is in his 17th year as a head coach with a career record of 330-146.
Series Record
It is the fourth meeting between Texas Tech and Hawai'i with the Lady Raiders holding a 3-0 advantage over the Rainbow Wahine. The series dates back to the 19985-86 season when Tech beat Hawai'i, 77-71, Dec. 6, 1985, in Honolulu. The Lady Raiders beat Hawai'i, 67-63, to win the tournament title in Hawai'i on Dec. 23, 1998. In their last contest, Tech defeated Hawaii, 67-40, to win the Paradise Classic, in Honolulu Dec. 21, 2000.

Arkansas
Arkansas enters the tournament with a 5-0 record. Through their first five games, the Lady Razorbacks are led in scoring by junior Lauren Ervin at 13.4 points per game and senior Sarah Pfeifer at 11.8. Ervin is the top rebounder, averaging 10.0 rebounds. Junior Brittney Vaughn has team highs of 23 assists and 17 steals. Ervin leads the team in blocks with 18. Arkansas is shooting 39.8 percent from the field, 23.2 percent from three-point range and 70.2 percent from the charity stripe. It would be the first meeting between the former Southwest Conference foes since the 1990-91 season. Arkansas won all three games that year, including the last contest, 60-51, March 9, 1991, in the finals of the Southwest Conference Tournament in Dallas. Tech's last win was a 69-60 triumph in the semifinals of the SWC Tournament in Dallas on March 8, 1990. The Lady Razorbacks are 16-8 against the Lady Raiders. Susie Gardner is in her fourth year as head coach of the Lady Razorbacks with a record of 51-41. She is in her 11th year as a head coach with a career record of 163-132.
Denver
Denver is 1-0 coming into the tournament after beating Lamar, 97-43, in its season opener. In their first game, the Pioneers were led in scoring by junior Sara Benham with 18 points followed by senior Tyesha Lowery with 15, junior Brooke Meyer and freshman Ashly Robinson with 13 apiece. Benham and Robinson each had five rebounds as well. Lowery compiled team highs of five assists and five steals. Denver shot 55.2 percent from the field, 47.6 percent from the three-point arc and 79.3 percent from the free throw line. This would be the first meeting between the Lady Raiders and the Pioneers. Pam Tanner is in her 12th year at the helm of the Pioneers establishing a career record of 158-151.
Gonzaga
The Bulldogs had a 3-1 record prior to their game at Portland State Nov. 21. In their first four games, the Bulldogs were led by in scoring by senior Stephanie Hawk and junior Michelle Elliott with 13.3 averages each. Hawk was also the top rebounder at 5.8 boards per outing. Hawk had team highs of 10 assists, 10 blocks and eight steals, while sophomore Sasha Polishchuck and junior Rachel Kane also had 10 assists apiece. Gonzaga was shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 42 percent from the three-point line and 78.5 percent from the charity stripe. Kelly Graves is in his seventh year as head coach of the Bulldogs with a record of 99-84 prior to the game at Portland State. He is also in his 10th year as a head coach with a career record of 165-110. Texas Tech and Gonzaga have never played each other.
North Carolina
The No. 2/2-ranked Tar Heels own a 3-0 record coming to Hawaii. On the year, sophomore Rashanda McCants leads the Tar Heels in scoring at 14.3 points per game followed by senior Ivory Latta at 13.3 and freshman Jessica Breland at 13.0. Breland is the top rebounder, grabbing 11.0 boards per game. Latta has a team-high 10 assists and junior Erlana Larkins leads the team in steals with 11. Breland is the top shot blocker with six blocks. UNC is shooting 44.6 percent from the field, 34.3 percent from three-point range and 64.4 percent from the free throw line. Sylvia Hatchell is in her 21st year at UNC and has compiled a record of 448-188. She is in her 32nd year as a head coach with a career record of 720-268. This would be the first meeting between Tech and UNC.
Sacramento State
Sac State enters tournament play with a 1-2 record. On the year, senior Kim Sheehy paces the Hornets in scoring with a 13.3 average. Freshman Erika Edwards is the top rebounder as she is averaging 5.3 rebounds per outing. Senior Stephanie Cherry has team highs of eight assists and nine steals. Senior Ashley Storms and junior Ali Mollet each have one block on the year. Sac State is shooting 36.5 percent from the field, 29.4 percent from three-point range and 76.2 percent from the free throw line. Dan Muscatell is in his fourth year at Sac State, establishing a career record of 19-65. The Lady Raiders are 2-0 against the Hornets, having played each other the past two seasons in Lubbock. Tech beat Sac State, 83-37, Dec. 12, 2004, and 63-53, Dec. 1, 2005.
UCLA
Prior to playing No. 2/2 Oklahoma on Nov. 21, No. 21/19 UCLA had a record of 2-1. In their first three games, the Bruins were led in scoring by junior Lindsey Pluimer at 18.0 points per game followed by senior Noelle Quinn at 17.3 and senior Amanda Livingston at 10.0. Pluimer and sophomore Chinyere Ibekwe were both averaging 6.0 rebounds per game. Quinn had a team-high 13 assists and Ibekwe led the team in steals with six. Ibekwe also had two blocks. UCLA had shot 45.6 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from three-point range and 68.8 percent from the free throw line prior to its game with OU. Kathy Olivier is in her 14th year at the helm of the Bruins with a career record of 204-176. Texas Tech is 3-0 against UCLA - 58-54, Dec. 4, 1985, in Los Angeles; 84-62, Dec. 20, 1995, in Lubbock; and 95-80, Nov. 29, 1996, in Los Angeles.
Last Time Out
(AP) - Erin Myrick scored a career-high 20 points and had 13 rebounds to lead Texas Tech to an 82-63 win over Texas State on Sunday.
Tech led the whole game and built a 21-point lead at 5:18 when Alesha Robertson hit a jumper to put Tech up 71-50.
With just less than three minutes left in the game, Ashley Riley closed the gap to 76-60.
Three other Lady Raiders scored in double figures. Robertson finished with 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Brooke Baughman had 11 points and Chesley Dabbs added 14.
Joyce Ekworomadu scored 22 points and Riley added 13 for the Bobcats.
Tech turned the ball over 22 times.
Tech ended the half with on a 9-4 run to lead 45-30 .
Lady Raider Coaches
When Kristy Curry was hired as head coach, she put together one of the top coaching staffs in the country. Joining Curry on the bench this season are associate head coach Bill Brock and assistant coaches Kelly Curry and Shereka Wright. Brock comes to Tech after spending the last six seasons at Baylor. Curry arrived on the South Plains after spending the past seven years at Purdue. Wright, who was an All-American for Curry at Purdue and plays in the WNBA, is in her first year in the coaching profession.
A Look Ahead
Texas Tech will host Tulane on Wed., Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. The Tulane game will be televised on the Texas Tech Television Network, which airs locally on My Lubbock TV. Tech heads to the West Coast for two games - at Fresno State Fri., Dec. 1, at 9 p.m. CST and at Stanford Sun., Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. CST. The Lady Raiders return home Wed., Dec. 6, to take on Texas-Arlington at 7 p.m. and Oral Roberts on Thurs., Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. The Oral Roberts game will be televised on the Texas Tech Television Network, locally on My Lubbock TV. Tech plays Arizona State at 8 p.m. CST on Mon., Dec. 18, in the Hoops for Health Classic at Chase Field in Phoenix.
Career-High Points for Myrick, First Double-Double of Season
Junior Erin Myrick scored a career-high 20 points in leading Texas Tech to a victory over Texas State. Myrick's previous career high was 17 against Oral Roberts in 2005. She also tied her season high of 13 rebounds for her first double-double of the season and the third of her career. It marked the fourth time in her career for double-digit rebounds.
Seeing Double, Again
Senior Alesha Robertson had her second-straight double-double as she had 13 points and 11 rebounds against Texas State. It was the eighth double-double of her career.
Robertson Reaches 500 Rebounds
Senior Alesha Robertson reached the 500-rebound mark against Texas State when she recorded 11 boards. She currently has 510 rebounds in her career. Last season, Robertson reached the 1,000-scoring plateau and now has 1,193 career points.
Baughman Has Career-High Day
Senior Brooke Baughman poured in a career-high 17 points in the win at Houston last Tuesday. She also hit a career-high five three-pointers in the game. Her previous career highs were 16 points and four three-pointers against Texas last season in Lubbock.
Career High Boards for Edwards
Senior Patrice Edwards grabbed a career-high eight rebounds in the game at Houston. Her previous career high was six on two occasions.
Murphree Making Impact
In the first two games, freshman Jordan Murphree made a big impact in the wins. In her first collegiate game, she led the Lady Raiders in scoring with 17 points against Texas-San Antonio. She also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists. At Houston, Murphree finished the game with 15 points, eight assists, four steals and two blocks.
Double-Double for Robertson
Senior Alesha Robertson recorded her first double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds at Houston. It marked the seventh double-double of her career with four of them coming from last season.
Dabbs Gets Double Digits in First Game Back
Senior Chesley Dabbs poured in 15 points in the win over UTSA. It was her first game since March 27, 2005, against Tennessee in the NCAA Sweet 16 in Philadelphia. In the game against the Roadrunners, Dabbs also finished with six rebounds, three assists and one block in 34 minutes.
Baughman Makes Presence Known
Senior Brooke Baughman scored 15 points against UTSA, just one point shy of her then career-high 16 points (vs. Texas in 2006). At that time, the 15 points marked the second-highest output for Baughman in a game in her career. She then scored a new career-high 17 points at Houston.
Myrick Nears Career-High Boards
Junior Erin Myrick was just one rebound shy of tying her career high of 14 rebounds. Myrick grabbed 13 boards versus Texas-San Antonio in the season opener. Myrick's career high of 14 rebounds was established at Texas A&M last season.
She's Back!
Senior Chesley Dabbs returns to the floor after missing the 2005-06 season after tearing her ACL and medial meniscus in her left knee during preseason workouts last year. Dabbs was an All-Big 12 second team selection in 2005 and averaged 12.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 32 games, in which she started all of them.
Preseason Honors
Senior Alesha Robertson was named preseason honorable mention All-Big 12 by the coaches.
Degrees in Hand
Seniors Chesley Dabbs and Patrice Edwards have already received their degrees. Edwards graduated last May with a degree in human development and family studies, while Dabbs graduated with a triple major of accounting, finance and general business last August.
Home Sweet Home
Texas Tech has won 101 of its 111 games it has played at the United Spirit Arena for a .910 winning percentage. Tech has produced five perfect seasons at home 1999-00 (16-0), 1998-99 (14-0), 1995-96 (16-0), 1992-93 (15-0) and 1991-92 (11-0).
Winning Percentage By Class
The senior class is 67-30 (.691) and 31-17 (.646) in the Big 12. Chesley Dabbs, who redshirted last year, posts a 81-22 (.786) record and 35-13 (.729) in the conference. The junior class is 42-22 (.656) and 21-11 (.656) in the league, while the sophomore class is 18-14 (.563) and 9-7 (.563). The freshmen are 3-0 (1.000).
On the Tube
Texas Tech will have 16 regular-season games televised this season. The Lady Raiders will play on ESPN2 once, FSN four times, FSN SW once, CSTV once and the Texas Tech Television Network nine times. On FSN, Tech will play at Oklahoma (Jan. 14), at Oklahoma State (Jan. 20), Oklahoma (Feb. 17), and at Texas (Feb. 24). Tech will play on FSN SW against Texas (Jan. 27) in Lubbock. Tech's game with Kansas State (Feb. 11) will be on ESPN2. The game at Kansas (Jan. 31) will be on CSTV on a taped delayed status. The Lady Raiders will have games against Texas-San Antonio (W, 66-58), Tulane (Nov. 29), Oral Roberts (Dec. 14), Furman (Dec. 21), at Baylor (Jan. 3), Oklahoma State (Jan. 6), Texas A&M (Jan. 10), Missouri (Jan. 17) and Baylor (Feb. 7) on the Texas Tech Television Network.

Lady Raider Basketball with Kristy Curry
Kristy Curry's weekly television show, Lady Raider Basketball with Kristy Curry, will be televised every Sunday. The show will air on FOX34 at 10:30 p.m. and My Lubbock TV at 11 p.m. during the football season and then at 10 p.m. on FOX34 and 10:30 p.m. on My Lubbock TV throughout the rest of the season. There will not be a show on Nov. 26 or Dec. 24.
The Kristy Curry Radio Show
The Kristy Curry Radio Show will be held each Monday starting Jan. 8 from 6-7 p.m. The show will air on KFYO-AM 790 and KKCL-FM 98.1 locally. The show will be held at p Neighborhood Grill and Bar located at 4th and Milwaukee.
Tech Signs Top 10 Recruiting Class
Kristy Curry's first recruiting class was ranked 10th in the country by All Star Girls Report. Curry signed three junior college players and one high school player to national letters of intent during the early signing period. The recruiting class consists of Alana Rumph, a 5-9 guard from Keller, Texas, who plays at South Plains College; Dominic Seals, a 6-2 post from Dallas, Texas, who also plays at South Plains College; Keisha Walker, a 5-8 guard from Kansas City, Mo., who plays at Fort Scott Community College; and Jordan Jones, a 5-9 guard from Suwanee, Ga., who attends Collins Hill High School.
