
Tech Drops Match In Manhattan

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Texas Tech Red Raiders fell in four to Kansas State as the Wildcats picked up their first conference victory of the season. The Red Raiders lost the match 3-1 by scores of 22-30, 30-24, 30-32, 19-30. Tech dropped to 10-9 overall and 3-7 in the Big 12.
Kansas State out-hit Tech .250 to .204, including a fourth-game discrepancy of .368 to .087. The Red Raiders posted 64 total kills with 30 errors on 167 attempts. In the single game won by Tech, the team notched their best hitting of the night with .306 percent.
Four Red Raiders tallied double-digit kills, with Philister Sang leading for her 11th-straight match. Sang knocked down 20 kills along with 16 digs to record her ninth doubled-double of the season. Brittany Hughes notched 12 kills with Alicia Ostmeyer adding 11 and Amy Charlebois 10. Ostmeyer and Charlebois each hit with a percentage of .333 on the night.
Emily Ziegler was the primary setter against the Wildcats as she led in assists with 49. Jenn Harrell matched Sang's dig mark as the freshman libero registered 16. Charlebois led the blocking effort as she recorded one solo and five assisted blocks.
