LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Texas Tech coach Marsha Sharp liked her team's effort in the second half much more than the first.
Plenette Pierson, one of four Texas Tech players in double figures, scored 15 points to lead the No. 8 Lady Raiders to their 11th straight victory, 76-45 over Pacific on Sunday.
"I was not that pleased with our intensity level in the first half," Sharp said. "I thought we might have been sleepwalking a little bit. Not on the defensive end, but I felt like we might have taken the easy way out on the offensive end a few times and rushed our shots."
The Lady Raiders (11-1) began to take control during the final stages of the first half, taking a 36-26 lead at intermission.
"I was pleased with the way we did some things during most of the first half," Pacific coach Craig Jackson said. "We came in with a specific game plan on offense and defense, and we followed that. But we had some breakdowns late in the first half and got away from a few things. And Texas Tech did a good job of making some adjustments."
After the Tigers pulled within 45-32 during the early stages of the second half, Tech responded with an 8-1 run for a 53-33 lead with 12:52 to play.
Less than a minute later, the Tigers (3-9) got within 53-37 on two free throws by Jasmine Ewing, but Texas Tech responded again with an 11-5 run to go up by 22 points with 5:54 remaining. Five Lady Raiders scored during the run.
"I think when you're not hitting shots, you have to make up for it with your defensive game," said Tech's Jia Perkins, who struggled from the field and made 6 of 19 shots from the floor.
"That's what I tried to do today. You have to shake those things up and keep shooting and get something done at the defensive end."
Texas Tech (11-1) held Pacific scoreless for the final 5:39.
Perkins added 14 points for Texas Tech, and Erin Grant and Natalie Ritchie each scored 10. Grant also had nine assists.
Gillian d'Hondt had 21 points for the Tigers.
