The first one was late in the first quarter off of Nate Hybl and the second mid-way through the fourth quarter when Paul Thompson had replaced Hybl.
- Kliff Kingsbury was sacked in the endzone for the safety late in the first quarter marking the first time since 1995 (Oct. 21 vs. Rice) that an opponent has scored a safety against the Red Raider offense.
- The Texas Tech offense did not pick up a first down until the 14:20 mark in the second quarter marking the longest stretch this season that Tech has not produced a first down.
- Texas Tech failed to scored in the first half for the first time this season. The last time Tech did not score points in the first half of a game was against Nebraska in 2000.
- Freshman Vincent Meeks scored the first points of the game for Texas Tech on a 98-yard kickoff return late in the second quarter. Ivory McCann was the last Tech player to return a kickoff for a touchdown when he returned the ball 100 yards against New Mexico in the season opener last season.
