Men's Golf In 12th Place After First Round

LUBBOCK, Texas- - The Red Raider Men's Golf Team is in 12th place after a disappointing first day at the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship in Hutchinson, Kansas. The Jayhawks lead the pack with a three-stroke lead at 307 followed closely by Baylor at 310.
Worth Williams of Baylor and Andy Stewart of Kansas are tied for first place after a two-over par performance at 72. Third place is split three ways by Kevin Oswald of Iowa State, Par Nilsson of Oklahoma State and Stephen Reed of Texas A&M with first-round performances of 75.
Texas Tech golfers look to improve after a disappointing 18 holes talling a team total 338. Mark Hull is tied in 22nd place at eight-over for a total of 80. David Bolen is in 39th after swinging an 82. Brad Jacobson and Trey Pyka are tied for 56th place after a first-round score of 88, while Kyle Willmann rounds out the Raiders in 60th place at 89.
Texas Tech was ranked 8th in the Big 12 before the tournament began. Play will continue tomorrow at 8 a.m.
