LUBBOCK, Texas - For the first time since the start of preseason practice, the Red Raiders operated under 90-degree temperatures on the grass practice fields southeast of Jones SBC Stadium as the team began preparations for Saturday's game against Louisiana-Lafayette.
The cooler weather reflected in the team's mood as Texas Tech ran the offense and defense against the scout team and Louisiana-Lafayette schemes.
"Practice went good this afternoon," head coach Mike Leach said. "Kliff (Kingsbury) played good today as well as the offensive line. We saw a lot of positives out on the field today."
Texas Tech hosts the Ragin' Cajuns Sat., Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. at Jones SBC Stadium. The game is the fourth of four straight home games for the Red Raiders to open the season. Eight games are slated for the artificial turf of Jones SBC Stadium this season.
