LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech football team finished up spring practice on Thursday and now focus toward the Red-Black Game Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Red Raiders donned shoulder pads, helmets and shorts for Thursday's workout, which began with six periods of individual group drills, followed by a full-squad workout. Tech worked on various offensive and defensive schemes in preparation for Saturday's game during the team workout.
"Today's practice went great," Texas Tech Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator Greg McMackin said. "We were really bright on both sides of the ball. This practice was a polish session, and was a good high-spirited last practice."
Texas Tech's annual spring game is Sat., April 15, at Jones Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Red Raider players and coaches will be available on the field following the game for photos and autographs.
Prior to kickoff for the spring's final scrimmage, former Texas Tech football players will suit up for an alumni flag football game. Over 100 former Red Raiders are expected back for weekend festivities.
Former All-American E.J. Holub and longtime coach Jess Stiles will serve as honorary coaches for the alumni game, which starts at 6:30 p.m. at Jones Stadium. Admission to both events is free.
