LUBBOCK, Texas - For the second-straight week, the Red Raiders enter weekly workouts preparing for a matchup with one of the nation's top 10 teams. Texas Tech began preparations for No. 10 Kansas State Monday night and continued Tuesday afternoon with a two-hour workout on the grass practice fields east of the Athletic Training Center.
"We looked sharp today," head coach Mike Leach said. "We had a couple of lapses, but nothing major. The team understands what lies ahead and is ready to accept the challenge. Our goal all season has been to win one game a week and we will continue to work toward that goal."
The first and second-team offenses and defenses spent much of the afternoon working out in full pads against the scout team. Practice began with a special teams workout on the turf at Jones SBC Stadium prior to full team drills on the grass.
Texas Tech and Kansas State meet for the sixth time in the series with the Wildcats looking to even the series at three games apiece. Kickoff is set for 6:09 p.m. (CT) at KSU Stadium in Manhattan. The game is the first of two straight for the Red Raiders on the road. FOX Sports Net will carry the game nationally. Ron Thulin, James Lofton and Eric Clemons will call the action.
