Scott Ramsey serves as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Olympic sports at Texas Tech University. He began his strength and conditioning career in 2018 after completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Science at Texas Tech. As an intern, he assisted in the implementation and programming for multiple teams including men’s and women’s golf, track and field, women’s basketball, volleyball and baseball, while working his way up through the intern program.
Ramsey was promoted to a full time post-graduate intern position in 2019. Under this role, he assisted in the intern program for Olympic sports, prepping graduate and undergraduate interns for their SCCC certification test, and in the summer of 2020, was assigned to be the assistant strength and conditioning coach for women’s basketball. In the spring of 2021, Ramsey was promoted to the strength and conditioning coordinator position while taking over as the head strength and conditioning coach for the men’s and women’s golf programs, while also continuing his previous assignments. In the fall of 2021, Ramsey was promoted to the assistant strength and conditioning position for Olympic Sports, where he maintains his status as the head strength and conditioning coach for both men’s and women’s golf programs along with men’s and women’s track and field.
In 2018, Ramsey earned his CSCS through the NSCA, and his SCCC certification through the CSCCa in 2019 following his internship with Texas Tech strength and conditioning. Ramsey was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, and completed his high school studies at Petrolia ISD in Petrolia, Texas, where he lettered in football, baseball, track, golf and powerlifting. He has previously competed in amateur powerlifting and currently participates in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where he has competed and medaled in several tournaments across the United States.
