Aaron Tebo joined the Texas Tech athletics department in April 2022 where he serves as an Associate Athletics Director and the Executive Director for Academic Excellence as well as the sport supervisor for the Red Raider men’s golf program.
In his role, Tebo leads the day-to-day operations of the Marsha Sharp Center for Student-Athletes and the academic progress of Texas Tech’s more than 400 student-athletes across all sports. He oversees all departmental awards and scholarships and serves as departmental liaison for the Office of Student Conduct, Office of International Affairs, and IT/Technology.
Additionally, Tebo is the academic advisor for the men’s track and field team and a member of the Marsha Sharp Center for Student-Athletes Executive and Leadership Teams.
A seasoned administrator of 14-plus years with supervisory, budget, policy creation, and implementation experience prior to his arrival at Texas Tech, Tebo was named in August 2021 the Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services at fellow Big 12 member Baylor. Within that role, he served as the secondary sport administrator for the women’s basketball team and as a member of the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence Leadership Team. He also served as the academic coach for the men's and women's basketball, soccer, and men's golf teams.
In December 2016, Tebo was named Director of Academic Services at Baylor. Within this role, Tebo had full academic oversight of the women’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s golf and women’s tennis teams. Prior to being named Director of Academic Services, Tebo was the Academic Advisor for the football (defense) and men’s golf programs at Baylor. He previously served in that role from May 2011 to December 2016.
Before his arrival to Baylor, Tebo served as the academic counselor for the football and women’s softball teams at Florida State. He began his career at Florida State in August 2011 as an assistant academic counselor, eventually working his way into his full-time role there.
Tebo is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he received his undergraduate degree in business marketing. He completed his graduate work at the University of Oklahoma with a masters in adult and higher education with a concentration in intercollegiate athletics administration.
While at Oklahoma, he also served as a graduate assistant and the football academic support team leader within the Student-Athlete Academic Services department. He also served a summer working at the University of Nebraska athletics department as the football summer bridge program coordinator.
Tebo and his wife, Shannon (TTU College of Health and Human Sciences, Director of Advising & Retention), are parents to three sons: Miller, Jones, and Foster.
