Lana Jones joined the Texas Tech Athletic Department in 2013 and is currently serving as the Track & Field / Cross Country Director of Operations. In addition to serving as the Texas Tech meet director for all home competitions, her duties include coordinating all team travel, scheduling of meets, team schedules, creating and monitoring the track & field/cross country operating budget, serving as the liaison for compliance, academics, marketing, sports information, facilities, events and the Top Gun T&F Officials Association.
Prior to her promotion as Director of Operations with Track & Field, Jones served in the same capacity with the golf and tennis programs. Jones previously worked as Compliance Coordinator within the department. She assisted with the monitoring and education of NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech rules and policies.
Jones earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology at The University of Texas at Austin in 2007. She then moved on to get her master's degree in sport management at Texas Tech in 2010.
Jones was born and raised in Tahoka, Texas. She resides in Lubbock.
