Cherubet is the program’s second Newcomer of the Year winner since 2010
IRVING, Texas – Freshman All-American runner Juliet Cherubet was named the Big 12 Women's Cross Country Newcomer of the Year, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.

In her first season with Tech, Cherubet secured four top-5 finishes, including two meet wins (Gans Creek Invite and Arturo Barrios Invite). At the Big 12 Championships, Cherubet placed third before placing third once again two weeks later at the NCAA Mountain Regional race.

At the NCAA Championships, Cherubet finished 18th and the second-highest placing freshman behind Alabama's Doris Lemngole, who finished as the national runner-up.
